Temporary Opening Hours Change

Hi folks! We’ll be closing between 12:00PM and 1:30PM for lunch all weekdays until the 15th of October.

We’ll also be closing early on Thursdays due to the timing of a uni lecture - 4:15PM.

And we’ll be closed from the 24th September to the 5th October.

Own a local business

We’re looking to sell the business to someone interested in continuing to provide quality framing services to the Katherine community! Tricia’s looking to move down to Victoria to be with her partner, and PJ’s said something about ‘retirement’.

The shop is a solid investment, and we’ll provide on-the-job training to whoever purchases it, so even if you’ve never framed before this is a perfect opportunity to break into the area.

For more info, enquire in the shop, give us a ring or check out this page here.

Exhibitions Update

Hi all!

Due to unforseen circumstances, Ross McHutcheon’s exhibition has been postponed indefinitely, but we’re still hoping to have him and his lovely work around sometime this year, because he deserves to show off his skills!

Our next exhibition begins this Friday, the 18th of August (yes, I know, short notice, but this is what you get when you put me on social media duty, sorry!). We’re proud to be showcasing Etienne and Cara’s stunning wildlife and landscape photography! They own and operate Wild Territory Images and are lovely folks who are travelling all the way down from Darwin for the opening evening, from 5:00-6:30 PM on the 18th.

Ross Hutcheon Exhibition

An exhibition of local artist Ross Hutcheon’s landscapes, focussing on the unique natural beauty of the Territory. Opens 6th of August, 2023 and closes 14th August at Contemplations art gallery.

‘A View to Werrenbun - The Headstone Exhibition’

Bolda Hunter’s third exhibition with Contemplations opens on Friday the 30th June, 2023. Come and join us and explore the nature and culture behind Werrenbun.

Art Exhibition - Bolda Hunter

Come and see the exhibition ‘Kantri doesn’t see kala’, a showcase of Bolda Hunter’s unique and evocative art style. Combining traditional stories and techniques with contemporary styles and themes, Bolda explores what it means to be connected to country, and how people are shaped by their surroundings.

Contemplations Website Launch

Website is a go! It’s still a work in progress - if you come across any issues - broken links, images that look suspiciously like stock photos, spelling mistakes and formatting errors - feel free to get in touch with us and let us know. :)

New Art - ‘Transit’

A stunning acrylic piece by Ross Foote, Transit captures the vast majesty of space in a truly unique fashion. With the planets and their moons breaking the borders of the image itself, there is an openness to the art that evokes the vast expanse of the void, and the unique framing serves to highlight and emphasise this stunning effect.
